Satellite Communication Lab
Considering the growing usage of satellite telecommunications in areas like speech, image and data communications, the imported products related to this technology are increasing. In addition, a number of domestic companies have recently designed and developed some of these products depending on the existing demand in the country. Therefore, clearly the functionality of these products must be examined according to standard test procedures. These test procedures must verify the conformance to the standards as well as manufacturer claims regarding the properties of the product. Hence, the Satellite Communications Laboratory of Iran Telecom Research Center (ITRC) evaluates the functionality of these products as a type-approval laboratory. In addition, this laboratory can play an important role in developing technical science at this institution and provide proper means to transfer technology and localization of space technology in the country by performing various test procedures.
