Type Approval Reference Laboratory for Optical Access System & Networks

benifits

In the fifth national development plan, the necessity of setting up reference type approval Labs in the field of communications & information technology is stipulated.  And, this is further emphasized by the fact that the access section of the National Information Network will be largely based on the GPON optical technology. Therefore, an important outcome of this assignment is to identify the highest quality systems and components for incorporation into the national fiber network.

Sharing  our accumulated experiences with the relevant academic faculties, transferring the know-how to domestic  optical  equipment manufacturers on standard-adherent products and backbone operators as well as providing advisory services to the regulatory authorities.

Year
description

The aim is to establish a type approval facility to carry out verification tests on all submitted sample optical access systems and products in order to verify compatibility with global ITU-T standards. The testing procedure involves equipment performance checks and design specification measurements as well as field checks of sample systems, network, etc. to establish compliance with the relevant ITU-T protocols.

The project also calls for the procurement of the highest quality instrumentation, including measurement tools, evaluation and calibration equipment, etc., as well as for provision of comprehensivedocumentation on set up & test procedure

Within this scope, following peculiarities can be taken into account:

  • Optical access networks & systems equipped with the GPON
  • technology& a capacity of up to 2.5Gbps
  • Optical access systems & networks with P-to-P Ethernet technology & a capacity of up to 10Gbps
